Attentive is an SMS and mobile marketing platform for building and engaging subscriber audiences.
Setup guide
Follow this setup guide to connect Attentive to Improvado.
Click the Connections in the left navigation bar.
Categories on the Data sources page group all available platforms. Use a search to find the required one.
Use the search to find and click the Attentive tile.
Choose how to connect. Attentive supports two methods, and both give the same data:
- Private App API Key — you create your own app in Attentive and paste its key into Improvado. Choose this one if you want to control which permissions the connection carries.
- Connect with Attentive — you authorize the Improvado app on your Attentive account. There is nothing to create on your side.
Connect with a Private App API Key. Skip to Step 5 if you chose Connect with Attentive.
Sign in to Attentive and open the integrations setup page. You need administrator access to create an app.
Click + Create App in the top-right corner, then enter an app name and your contact email.
Set the permissions. Every API starts at No Access. Set Product Catalog to Write if you plan to extract the Product Catalog Uploads report. The other reports need no permission changes.
Click Create and copy the API key from the modal that appears.
- The API key is shown only once. If you lose it, regenerate the key in Attentive and reconnect in Improvado.
- You can change the app permissions later on the same page. After changing them, reconnect the data source in Improvado so the new permissions take effect.
Back in Improvado, paste the key into the Private App API Key field and click Authorize. Improvado validates the key against Attentive before saving the connection.
Connect with Connect with Attentive. Skip this step if you already connected with an API key.
Select the Connect with Attentive method and click Authorize. Improvado redirects you to Attentive.
Sign in to Attentive and approve the access request. Attentive returns you to Improvado and the connection is saved.
After the connection completes successfully, the Attentive connection appears in your Connected sources list.
When the connection status is Active, you can move on to data extraction.
To extract data from the connected sources, check the instructions on how to set up data extraction.
Schema information
The schema information shows all report types you can use to extract data from Attentive.
Limits
The Attentive API does not expose campaign, journey, or message performance. Metrics such as sends, clicks, conversions, revenue, and unsubscribes are not available through the API, so this connector cannot deliver them.
If you need that data, Attentive can deliver it as a scheduled file feed instead. Ask your Attentive representative about their SFTP data feeds, then set up a Managed SFTP connection in Improvado to receive the files.
