Description

Microsoft Outlook is the email, calendar, and contacts application within Microsoft 365. Improvado connects to an Outlook mailbox through the Microsoft Graph API to extract mail, calendar events, and contacts.

Setup guide

Follow our setup guide to connect Microsoft Outlook to Improvado.

Step 1. Click the Make a new Connection on the Connections page. Categories on the Data sources page group all available platforms. Use a search to find the required one.

Step 2. Click on the Microsoft Outlook tile.

Step 3. Click Connect and sign in with the Microsoft 365 work or school account whose mailbox you want to connect.

Step 4. Choose the access level. Read Only is enough to extract your mail, calendar, and contacts. Read and Write is only required for write-back scenarios.

Step 5. Review the permissions Microsoft asks you to grant and approve the consent screen. You are returned to Improvado and the connection is created.

Note: The account you connect must have an active Outlook mailbox in Microsoft 365. If the account has no mailbox provisioned, the connection succeeds but no mail, calendar, or contact data is returned.

Step 6. When the connection status is Active, and the account status column shows a number of accounts, you can move on to data extraction.

Step 7. To extract data from the connected sources, check the instructions on how to set up data extraction.
