Google Slides
Description
Google Slides is Google's online presentation app, part of Google Workspace, for creating and editing slide decks in a browser.
Setup guide
Follow this setup guide to connect Google Slides to Improvado.
Authorize Improvado with your Google account:
Before authorizing, make sure you are signed in to the Google account that can open the presentations you want to extract data from.
Click Sign in with Google. You will be redirected to Google to sign in.
Review the requested permissions and click Allow. Improvado asks for your name, email address and access to the Google Drive files you choose. You will be redirected back to Improvado automatically.
On the connection page, the Google file picker opens. Select the presentations you want to extract data from and click Select. To add presentations later, click Add files in the Google Drive files section of the connection page. See Google File Picker for a walkthrough with screenshots.
After the connection process is completed successfully, the Google Slides connection will appear in your Connected sources list.
When the connection status is Active, and the account status column shows a number of presentations, you can move on to data extraction. Each presentation you chose is listed as a separate account, so you can select exactly which presentations to extract.
To extract data from the connected sources, check the instructions on how to set up data extraction.
- Improvado can access only the presentations you choose in the file picker and the files it creates. Google describes this permission as “See, edit, create, and delete only the specific Google Drive files you use with this app”.
- Google does not support revoking access to a single file. To revoke access entirely, remove Improvado from the connected apps of your Google account.
- The file picker needs your browser to allow Google cookies on this page. If you use Brave and the presentations you choose do not appear, click the Brave Shields icon in the address bar, set Cookies to Allow all, and choose the presentations again.
