Description

Wistia is a video hosting and analytics platform designed for businesses. Wistia helps teams host, manage, and measure the performance of their video content, providing insights into viewer engagement and behavior.

Setup guide

Follow our setup guide to connect Wistia to Improvado.

Prerequisites

A Wistia account with Account Owner permissions (only Account Owners can generate API tokens).

Step 1. Generate an API Token

1.1. Log in to your Wistia account.

1.2. Click on your account avatar in the top-right corner and select Settings.

1.3. Navigate to the API Access tab in Account Settings.

1.4. Click Add Token to generate a new API token.

1.5. Set the token permissions to Read only (this is sufficient for data extraction).

1.6. Copy the generated token immediately. The token is only displayed once and cannot be retrieved later. If you lose it, you will need to generate a new one.

Step 2. Connect Wistia to Improvado

2.1. Click the Make a new Connection on the Connections page. Use the search to find Wistia.

2.2. Click on the Wistia tile.

2.3. Paste the API Token you copied in Step 1 into the API Token field.

2.4. Click Connect to authorize your account.

Step 3. Verify the connection

3.1. After the connection is completed, the Wistia connection will appear in your Connected sources list.

3.2. When the connection status is Active and the account status column shows a number of accounts, you can move on to data extraction.

3.3. To extract data from the connected sources, check the instruction on how to set up data extraction.
