StackAdapt - Troubleshooting

Updated on Mar 27, 2025

While configuring your StackAdapt connection, you may encounter several issues. Understanding these common errors can help streamline the setup process and facilitate quick resolutions.

Authentication issue

Error message:

Error
"Error occurred Get credentials error for stack_adapt, API returned an auth error: StackAdapt unauthorized"

Reason

The following issue may occur due to an expired API key.

Solution

Verify your API key's current status and expiration date within the account settings. If expired, generate a new API key and try to authenticate again.

Data Discrepancies

Occasionally, you may notice data discrepancies in reported data.

Reason

This can happen due to deleted entities, such as native_ads or campaigns. When retrieving a campaign, deleted native_ads will not be included. However, a statistics request for the same campaign, grouped by native_ads, will still include data from deleted ads. Additionally, when making a statistics request for a buyer_account, grouping by native_ads will exclude deleted campaigns, while grouping by campaigns will include them.

Missing Native_ad_id

Sometimes you may encounter an issue where native_ad_id values exist in perfomance report type and are missing in entity report type.

Reason

native_ads were deleted on the platform, however, their native_ad_idremain preserved in the statistics datasets. This results in a discrepancy where the native_ad_id is visible in reports, despite the associated native_ad no longer being available.
