Snapchat Ads - Troubleshooting

While configuring your Snapchat Ads connection, you may encounter several issues. Understanding these common errors can help streamline the setup process and facilitate quick resolutions.

Wrong permissions

Error message:

{%docs-informer error%} "The current organization role is 'member'. Please change it to 'admin'" {%docs-informer-end%}

This occurs because the Snapchat user who authorized the integration does not have sufficient access to the ad account in Snapchat Business Manager.

Solution

  1. Log in to Snapchat Ads Manager with an Organization Admin account. Learn more.
  2. Navigate to Business → Members and select the user who connected the integration. Learn more.
  3. Under Account Memberships, add the user to the ad account and assign a role that allows reading campaigns. The recommended role is Account Admin, although any role with full campaign/reporting access will suffice. Learn more.
  4. Confirm changes, and then re-run the extraction, or, if requested by the Improvado team, re-connect the Snapchat to refresh the permissions and ensure ongoing access.

Once the permissions are correctly configured, the Snapchat API integration will be able to access campaigns successfully, and the error will no longer appear.
