Google PageSpeed Insights - Troubleshooting

While configuring your Google PageSpeed Insights connection, you may encounter several issues. Understanding these common errors can help streamline the setup process and facilitate quick resolutions.

The connection fails right after you paste the key

The PageSpeed Insights API is not enabled in the Google Cloud project that owns the key, or the key carries an IP address or HTTP referrer restriction. Enable the API (Step 3.2) and remove the application restriction (Step 3.4) in the Google PageSpeed Insights setup guide.

An extraction returns fewer rows than you have URLs

A page that PageSpeed Insights could not load or render is skipped, with no error row in the output — a redirect to a login screen, a page blocking automated clients, a slow-rendering page and a typo in the address all look the same in the result. Check the missing addresses at pagespeed.web.dev: a page that fails there fails in Improvado for the same reason.

An extraction stops partway through

Your Google Cloud project has run out of quota. See Limits.
