Amazon Advertising DSP - Troubleshooting
While configuring your AmazonDSP connection, you may encounter several issues. Understanding these common errors can help streamline the setup process and facilitate quick resolutions.
Empty Reach and Frequency Metrics
What This Means
This issue occurs because the extraction order uses a field that is incompatible with reach and frequency metrics. Even though the Amazon DSP API documentation for the dspCampaign APIreport (campaign_report report type) lists the metrics "reach" and"frequencyAverage" at the ad level (lineItemName), the API returns these metrics only at the campaign level.
Solution
To retrieve reach and frequency metrics, create a new extraction order at the campaign level:
Navigate to your Amazon DSP extraction orders.
Create a new extraction order.
Remove the "lineItemName" field from the extraction configuration. This field represents ad-level data and prevents reach/frequency metrics from populating.
Save and run the extraction order.
Verify that the "reach" and "frequency_average" columns now contain values.
