Alpha Vantage

Alpha Vantage provides realtime and historical market data — stocks, forex (FX), and digital currencies — through a simple API. Improvado connects to Alpha Vantage with an API key and extracts price time series at daily, weekly or monthly granularity for the stock symbols, currency pairs and digital currencies you configure.

Note
A free Alpha Vantage API key takes less than a minute to claim. Free keys have a daily request limit — for larger extractions consider an Alpha Vantage premium key.

Click the Connections in the left navigation bar.
Categories on the Data sources page group all available platforms. Use a search to find the required one.

Find Alpha Vantage and click Connect.

Claim your API key on the Alpha Vantage website — enter your email and the key is issued instantly.

Enter an Organization Name — a label for this connection (for example, your company name) — paste the key into the API Key field, and click Connect.

When setting up extraction, specify the stock symbols (for example, IBM or AAPL), currency pairs (for example, EUR/USD) or digital currencies (for example, BTC with a market currency) you want to load, and pick the time granularity in the report settings.

Schema information

The schema information shows all report types you can use to extract data from Alpha Vantage.

API changes

Alpha Vantage does not publish a separate API changelog. The latest state of the API is always reflected in the Alpha Vantage API reference, which the Alpha Vantage team keeps up to date.
