Act-On is a marketing-automation platform built around email campaigns, recipient engagement and opt-out management.
Follow our setup guide to connect Act-On to Improvado.
Step 1. Click Make a new Connection on the Connections page.
Categories on the Data sources page group all available platforms. Use a search to find the required one.
Step 2. Click on the Act-On tile.
Step 3. Authorize your Act-On account using one of two methods.
Option A — OAuth (recommended). Click Authorize, sign in to Act-On in your browser, and approve Improvado's access. Improvado never sees your Act-On password.
Option B — Username & Password. Provide your Act-On Username, Password, Client ID, and Client Secret.
Note: For Option B, you can get your Client ID and Client Secret by following these steps.
Step 3.1. Sign in to your Act-On account as an administrator.
Step 3.2. Navigate to Settings → Other Settings → Custom Account Settings → API Access Keys.
Step 3.3. Click Generate API Keys.
Step 3.4. Copy the generated Client ID and Client Secret and paste them into the connection form on Improvado.
Step 4. After completing the connection process, the Act-On connection will appear in your Connected sources list.
Step 5. When the connection status is Active, and the account status column shows a number of accounts, you can move on to data extraction.
Step 6. To extract data from the connected sources, check the instructions on how to set up data extraction.
Note for EU customers: If your Act-On account is hosted in Europe, contact Improvado Support before connecting — the integration currently targets the US Act-On host.
The schema information shows all report types you can use to extract data from Act-On.
You can find information about the latest API changes in Act-On's official API overview.
