YouGov - Troubleshooting

Updated on Aug 12, 2024

While configuring your YouGov connection, you may encounter several issues. Understanding these common errors can help streamline the setup process and facilitate quick resolutions.

Unauthorized error (Bad Credentials)

Error

Unauthorized: The server could not verify that you are authorized to access the URL requested. You either supplied the wrong credentials (e.g. a bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required.

Make sure to enable API access for your user account by reaching out to the YouGov Support Team.

Region access error

Error

HTTPError: ForbiddenResourceError: User <your email> cannot use region <region>.

YouGov API has multiple access levels per user, one of each is Region. If your account doesn’t have proper permissions to access any specific region, you’ll have to specify which regions will be used for extraction on the 3rd step of the Extraction flow. This will extract data for selected regions only.
