VideoAmp

Updated on Jul 16, 2026

Description

VideoAmp is a TV and cross-screen measurement platform. It measures how advertising campaigns reach audiences across linear TV, streaming, and digital, and reports the conversions those campaigns drove.

Improvado connects to VideoAmp through the VideoAmp API, so your audience definitions, campaign media, and measurement results can land in your data warehouse alongside your ad spend, CRM, and web analytics data.

Setup guide

Follow this setup guide to connect VideoAmp to Improvado.

Click Make a new Connection on the Connections page. Categories on the Data sources page group all available platforms. Use a search to find VideoAmp.

Click on the VideoAmp tile.

Request a VideoAmp API account. VideoAmp provisions API access on request, and during setup they issue the Client ID you need in Step 4. Follow the official API account setup guide or contact your VideoAmp representative.

Back in Improvado, fill in the connection form:

  • Client ID — the Client ID VideoAmp issued during API account setup.
  • Account Email — the email address of your VideoAmp API account.
  • Account Password — the password of your VideoAmp API account.

Note

  • VideoAmp keeps only one active session per API account. Requesting a new token invalidates the previous one, so if the same API account is used elsewhere at the same time, those sessions can interrupt each other. We recommend using a dedicated VideoAmp API account for Improvado.

Click Connect. After the connection completes successfully, the VideoAmp connection appears in your Connected sources list.

When the connection status is Active, and the account status column shows a number of accounts, you can move on to data extraction.

To extract data from the connected source, follow the instructions on how to set up data extraction.

Setting up the Measurement Report

The Measurement Report is different from the other VideoAmp report types. It is not a stored dataset — VideoAmp computes it on demand for the exact configuration you choose, so the extraction asks for a few extra settings and takes longer to complete.

When you set up the extraction, fill in:

  • Measurement Report Type — the VideoAmp methodology to run. The Reach & Frequency, Audience Essentials, and Topline Linear options return reach, frequency, and impression metrics. The Outcomes options additionally return conversion attribution.
  • Audiences — the audiences to measure against. All selected audiences must share the same currency of record.
  • Data Source Groups — the campaign media to measure.
  • Conversion Groups — required for the Outcomes report types, and left empty otherwise. VideoAmp recommends selecting no more than three.

Audiences, Data Source Groups, and Conversion Groups are offered as dropdowns populated from your VideoAmp account, so you can pick them by name.

Note

  • VideoAmp needs from 30 minutes to several hours to compute a measurement, so this report takes noticeably longer to extract than the other VideoAmp report types.
