The Emarsys connector now uses Core API v3 with OAuth 2.0 (OpenID Connect); reconnect with OpenID Connect API credentials and turn on the endpoint permissions the reports use.
- Deadline
- February 1, 2027
- Affected
- Connection (authentication) Email Campaigns Lifetime Incremental Email Launch Summary Segment Contacts Count Lifetime Incremental
- What to do
- Reconnect Emarsys with the client ID and client secret of OpenID Connect API credentials, with the endpoint permissions listed below turned on. Improvado has already moved the connector to Core API v3.
SAP Emarsys is retiring WSSE authentication: it is not available to contracts signed after February 24, 2025, and reaches end of life on February 1, 2027. Improvado has moved the Emarsys connector to Core API v3, which authenticates with OAuth 2.0 client credentials (OpenID Connect).
What you need to do
- In Emarsys, the account owner creates API credentials of the OpenID Connect type: Management > Security Settings > API Credentials > Create API Credentials > OpenID Connect. Copy the client secret right away: Emarsys shows it only once.
-
Turn on the endpoint permissions of these credentials, which are off by default:
customer.settingsfor the connection;campaign.listfor Email Campaigns Lifetime Incremental and Email Launch Summary;campaign.getlaunchesofemailfor Email Launch Summary;segment.getfor Segment Contacts Count Lifetime Incremental and Segments;segment.contact.countfor Segment Contacts Count Lifetime Incremental. - Reconnect Emarsys in Improvado with the client ID and client secret. WSSE API users and "OpenID Connect (SAP Cloud Identity)" credentials are not supported.
What stays the same
- Report type names, existing field names and table columns.
What changes in the reports
- Campaign metrics now come from the Emarsys Bulk Response Summary, because Emarsys retired the per-campaign response summary.
-
launchesis no longer populated: the current Emarsys API has no source for it. The column stays in your tables. -
A new metric,
privacy_opened(privacy opens as Emarsys reports them), is available in Email Campaigns Lifetime Incremental and Email Launch Summary. -
campaign.features,tagsandcriteria_typesare JSON arrays, for example["si", "contact"], andnullwhen empty, instead of quoted comma-separated text. - Email Launch Summary returns the finished launches whose launch day falls within the extraction date range.
- In Segment Contacts Count Lifetime Incremental, the Segment ID setting is a dropdown of the account's segments; typing an ID still works. Counts can take a little longer, because Emarsys counts the contacts of a segment asynchronously.
A new Segments report lists every segment of the account: see New Emarsys report: Segments.
