Field change StackAdapt Rolled out

StackAdapt removed the flight-level Daily Budget and Lifetime Budget fields from its API; three replacement fields — Gross Lifetime Budget, Gross Daily Budget and Gross Bid Amount — are now available on the Campaign Flights Entity report.

Affected
Campaign Flights Entity
What to do
No action required. The Campaign Flights Entity template is global, so the three new fields appear automatically once it syncs, and the next extraction populates them. Read the new Gross Lifetime Budget column in place of the retired Lifetime Budget one — note the two are measured differently if your account uses margins.

StackAdapt retired the flight-level Daily Budget and Lifetime Budget fields as part of its move to flight-level margins, and has since removed them from the API. Those two fields are no longer offered when you build an extraction. StackAdapt's replacements are now available on the Campaign Flights Entity report.

The new fields

  • Gross Lifetime Budget — the total cost allocated for the campaign flight before deducting margins
  • Gross Daily Budget — the daily cost allocated for the campaign flight before deducting margins
  • Gross Bid Amount — the bid amount before deducting margins, derived from the bid amount and the campaign group margin

Gross is not the same measurement as the retired fields

This is a replacement, not a rename, and the new fields land in new columns for a reason. The retired Daily Budget and Lifetime Budget were measured after margins were deducted; the gross fields are measured before. If your account does not use StackAdapt margins the two are identical, and the gross values will match what you see in the StackAdapt interface. If your account does use margins, they differ by the margin — so treat the gross columns as a new series rather than a continuation of the old one.

The retired columns keep whatever they already hold. Nothing is rewritten, and no history is lost.

If you read Bid Amount

StackAdapt now returns Bid Amount as empty for API users who do not have permission to view margins, and points at Gross Bid Amount as the field to read instead. Gross Bid Amount equals Bid Amount whenever no margin applies, so it is the safer column of the two to build a report on.

Seventeen field descriptions on the Campaign Flights Entity report were showing the neighbouring field's text when browsing fields. They now describe the field they belong to. Only the descriptions changed — no field, column or value was affected.
