- Affected
- Adsets Entity Campaigns Entity Ads Entity
- What to do
- No action required. Add the new Promotion fields to an Adsets Entity extraction to start collecting them. The retired fields were always empty, extractions that included them drop them automatically, and no data is lost.
The Spotify Ads API returns what an ad set promotes, an artist or a podcast show, as a nested object. Improvado now ingests it as three fields on the Adsets Entity report. In the same release, eleven fields that the Spotify Ads API does not return are retired.
New fields on Adsets Entity
-
Promotion Goal:
ARTIST_PROMOfor an ad set that promotes an artist's music on Spotify,PODCAST_PROMOfor one that promotes a podcast show. - Promotion Target ID: the Spotify ID of the promoted artist or podcast show.
-
Promotion Conversion Events (JSON): the conversion events tracked for the
promotion, each with its event type (
IMPRESSION,CLICKEDorCOMPLETE) and conversion window in milliseconds.
Spotify sets these only on ad sets created with a promotion goal. For other ad sets the columns stay empty, which is the API behaving normally.
Retired fields
The Spotify Ads API does not return these fields, so they have always been empty:
-
Campaigns Entity:
Ad Product,Channel,Salesforce Opportunity -
Adsets Entity:
Promotion(replaced by the three fields above),Categories,Salesforce Line Item ID,Targets Exclude Placements,Targets Sensitive Topic Exclusion IDs -
Ads Entity:
Notary Metadata,Placements,Slot Positions. Slot positions are set per ad set, so useSlot Positionson the Adsets Entity report.
Extractions that included these fields drop them automatically. No data is lost: the columns never held values.
