Profound retired the reporting endpoint behind the Sentiment Report for dates from 9 July 2026 onward; the report returns no new data and must be replaced with Sentiment Report V2, which measures sentiment as a share rather than a count.
- Deadline
- July 9, 2026
- Affected
- Sentiment Report
- What to do
- Add Sentiment Report V2 to your Profound extraction in place of Sentiment Report. Read the differences below first — V2 reports sentiment as a percentage share, not as a count of mentions, so dashboards built on the existing Positive, Negative and Occurrences columns need reworking rather than repointing.
Profound has retired the reporting endpoint that the Sentiment Report is built on. It now serves dates before 9 July 2026 only and rejects any request covering that date or later, so the report has been returning no new data since then. Sentiment data already extracted is unaffected and remains available, including re-extraction of that earlier history.
The replacement is Sentiment Report V2, released in August alongside the other Profound V2 reports. Only sentiment is affected — the Visibility, Citations, Query Fanouts and Answers reports continue to work as they are.
V2 is not a drop-in replacement
V2 measures sentiment differently. Repointing a dashboard at it will change what the numbers mean, so plan the switch rather than treating it as a rename.
-
Shares, not counts. The existing report returns
PositiveandNegativeas counts of mentions, withOccurrencesas their total. V2 returnsPositive SentimentandNegative Sentimentas percentages that add up to 100 within each row. There is no equivalent of the mention counts in V2, so any metric that sums or totals them has no direct replacement. - The two do not tie out. The V2 percentage is not the ratio you would calculate from the existing report's counts — the two differ by roughly two percentage points on the same brand and day, in either direction. Expect a visible step in any series that spans the switch, and note that neither version can be used to backfill the other.
- One brand per extraction. The existing report can return every brand in a category in a single extraction, broken down by asset. V2 takes the brand as a required setting, so tracking several brands means one extraction per brand.
- Sentiment Type is not available in V2, and the asset arrives as a name without its identifier.
-
Occurrence is conditional. V2's
Occurrencemetric is only available when Theme or Claim is selected as a dimension or used in a pre-filter; selecting it on its own fails the extraction.
What to do
- Add Sentiment Report V2 to your Profound extraction, choosing the brand you track in the Asset setting.
-
Rebuild any reporting that relies on
Positive,NegativeorOccurrencesas counts around the V2 percentage columns. - Keep the existing Sentiment Report only if you still need to re-extract history from before 9 July 2026; it cannot return anything later.
