A new Conversions Insights report splits OpenAI Ads conversions into click-through and view-through, with attributed purchase value, by day and by ad account, campaign, ad group or ad.
- Updated
- October 2, 2026
- Affected
- Conversions Insights report
- What to do
- No action required for existing reports. Add the Conversions Insights report to your OpenAI Ads extraction to receive click-through and view-through conversions separately, and join it to the Insights report on date and entity ID for impressions, clicks and spend.
OpenAI Ads reports conversions in two places. The Insights report carries a single Conversions figure, and since 30 September 2026 that figure counts click-through and view-through conversions together. The split between the two is available only from OpenAI's conversion insights endpoint, which the new Conversions Insights report reads.
What you get
- Click-through Conversions: conversions credited to a click within the click attribution window.
- View-through Conversions: conversions credited to an ad view without a click, within the view attribution window.
- Conversions: the total, always equal to click-through plus view-through.
- Order Created Attributed Sales and its currency: the attributed purchase value.
Rows are daily, in the ad account's time zone, and carry the aggregation level and the ID of the account, campaign, ad group or ad. Select Country or Device to split every row further; the API allows one of the two at a time.
Settings
- Aggregation Level: Ad Account, Campaign, Ad Group or Ad.
- Click Attribution Window: 7, 14 or 30 days after a click, 30 by default.
- View Attribution Window: 0 or 1 day after a view, 1 by default. With 0, view-through conversions stay at zero.
The defaults match OpenAI Ads Manager, so the numbers line up with what you see there.
What is not in this report
The conversion endpoint returns only conversion numbers: no names, statuses, impressions, clicks or spend. Those stay in the Insights report, so join the two on date and entity ID. Conversions keep arriving for up to 30 days after a click, so by default the report re-reads the last 32 days on every run and the latest days fill in over time.
