Nightwatch stopped returning its Moz, Majestic, Ahrefs and backlink fields in April 2026; those columns are now retired, and twenty other fields have been added to the URLs and Keywords reports.

- What to do
- No action required. The retired fields stay in tables that already hold them, along with everything collected before April 2026 — they are simply no longer offered when you build a new extraction. The twenty new fields are available to select right away.
Nightwatch removed a group of third-party SEO and backlink fields from its API in April 2026. Improvado has retired the matching fields and, in the same release, added twenty fields the API had started returning but the connector was not yet collecting.
Retired fields on the URLs report
These ten fields stopped arriving from Nightwatch between 8 and 20 April 2026. The API no longer returns them at all, so they have held no new data since that date:
Moz Rank,Moz Domain Authority,Moz Page AuthorityMajestic Trust Flow,Majestic Citation FlowAhrefs Rank,Ahrefs Domain Rating-
Backlinks Count,Backlinks Enabled,Backlinks Fetching Enabled
They are retired, not deleted. If your tables already contain these columns, the columns and every value collected before April 2026 stay exactly as they are, and your existing extractions keep running unchanged. What changes is that the fields are no longer listed when you set up a new extraction. Nothing needs to be re-run, and no data has been lost — figures you still see in these columns are historical, from before Nightwatch withdrew them.
Twenty new fields
Keywords gains seventeen fields covering where a keyword ranks, how that ranking moved, and its Google Ads demand:
-
Ranking detail —
Position Type,Position Organic,Position Local Pack,Position Featured Snippet,Position Knowledge Panel,Position Places,Position Places Image -
Movement —
Position Change,Last Position Change -
Result and query —
Result URL,URI,Results Count,Local Search -
Google Ads demand —
AdWords Global Search Volume,AdWords Global Average CPC,AdWords Local Search Volume,AdWords Local Average CPC
URLs gains three: Competitors, the competitor sites tracked against
a URL, plus YouTube Video ID and YouTube Channel for URLs set up to
track YouTube.
These are additive. Existing extractions are unaffected; select the new fields when you want them.
Two data-quality fixes
-
Google Ads figures are now numeric. Nightwatch returns the character
/instead of a number when a keyword has no Google Ads data, and that character was being stored in the four AdWords columns. Those cells are now empty, so the columns aggregate and chart correctly. Around a fifth to a quarter of rows with Google Ads data were affected. - Competitors and Last Position Change are valid JSON. Both fields hold a list, and both are now written in standard JSON so they can be parsed downstream.
Where the retired metrics live now
Nightwatch no longer supplies Moz, Majestic or Ahrefs scores through its API, so Improvado cannot
restore them from that connector. Domain Authority and
Domain Authority Change are unaffected and continue to arrive on the URLs report. If
you need third-party authority or backlink metrics alongside your Nightwatch data, they can be
collected from the vendor directly — reach out to your Customer Success Manager and we will help
you set that up.
