AND1 Tech runs multi-channel acquisition and creative testing at high volume, with decisions made every day across marketing, product, and finance. The data behind those decisions could not keep up.
A high-volume brand deciding on daily data
AND1 Tech Limited is a marketing agency running performance marketing for a sweepstakes casino brand. Acquisition, creative, and budget calls happen daily and across teams, so the business depends on numbers that are current, consistent, and quick to reach. As the operation scaled, the reporting underneath it could not keep that pace.
Manual pulls, fragile pipelines, and a hire that did not fit
Reporting and analysis ran on manual pulls in Excel and fragile pipelines spread across a patchwork of tools and spreadsheets. Getting answers to basic questions, like how daily performance moved, where cohorts were shifting, or whether a creative was fatiguing, usually meant context switching and several handoffs before anyone could act. Different teams pulled from different sources, so numbers rarely matched.
The business needed reliable, repeatable data workflows. The obvious move, hiring a dedicated data engineer, was not the right one at the time: the cost, the ramp, and the ongoing maintenance were hard to justify for a lean team that wanted to move fast.
From manual reporting to always-on data: faster decisions, without adding a data engineer.Ash Taylor, CMO, AND1 Tech
One source, connected once
With Improvado, AND1 Tech centralized data extraction and normalization into a single analytics layer, a warehouse and dashboards the whole team could act on. Connect once, and extraction and normalization run on their own, so the numbers live in one place and stay current.
Standardized definitions, so no one debates the numbers
Key event definitions and reporting logic were standardized, so stakeholders stopped debating whose numbers were right, and recurring reporting stopped eating the day.
Plain-English answers, no SQL, with Improvado AI
Anyone can ask the data a question in plain English with Improvado AI, with no SQL and no analyst queue, from daily performance to player-cohort and purchasing-behavior deep dives. The questions that once sat in a queue now get answered the moment someone asks them.
Faster decisions, a leaner operation, no new hire
Faster decision cycles
Reporting moved from ad-hoc and manual to consistent daily availability. Questions that once waited on manual exports and reconciliation became same-day, and the team could spot anomalies early, like creative fatigue, funnel drops, or tracking issues, and act on them without escalation. On our current estimate, a new dashboard or answer is turned around roughly twice as fast as the old workflow allowed.
A leaner operation
Manual data prep and repeated spreadsheet work dropped sharply: fewer broken formulas, fewer one-off "can you pull this?" asks, and fewer inconsistencies between teams. On our current estimate, that is on the order of 50 hours a month given back to the team. These time figures are AND1 Tech's own operational estimates.
No data-engineer hire
Improvado covered the core responsibilities the team would have hired for: connector setup, ongoing pipeline reliability, and transformation and normalization. The marketing and analytics team stayed lean while still operating with always-on data.
The conversation shifted from doubt to action
The clearest shift was confidence. With numbers everyone trusted, conversations moved from "is this correct?" to "what are we doing about it?" Decision meetings got shorter and more action-oriented because the data was already prepared, and Improvado AI is now used daily across the business to inform marketing calls and much more. With analysis no longer the bottleneck, the team increased the cadence of creative and funnel iteration.
