The short version

Seven questions, and where they usually land

If your organization runs on one CRM ecosystem and the platform native to it already answers these, staying is the cheaper decision and we will tell you so.

If the stack is mixed, or the bottleneck is getting cross-channel data governed and trustworthy rather than charted, that is the case for moving — and it describes most teams who start looking in the first place.

How many sources are pre-built, and who builds the rest? A connector you have to build and maintain is an engineering commitment that never appears in the contract price. 1,400+ data sources pre-built, and custom connector development runs to an SLA rather than to your team's backlog.
Where does data get corrected — before the dashboard, or in it? Fixing naming, currency and duplicate conversions inside a BI layer means every new dashboard re-inherits the same mess. Transformation is connector-level work the platform owns: naming, currency and attribution are reconciled before anything is charted.
Is there a rules layer, or only schema harmonization? Mapping field names is not the same as stopping a mis-budgeted campaign from launching. One is plumbing, the other is control. Marketing Data Governance ships inside the platform: pre-launch budget validation, cross-agency naming enforcement, compliance alerting.
Does attribution ship with the platform, or through a marketplace? When the model belongs to a third-party app, so does its maintenance, its roadmap and the answer when the numbers move. Multi-Touch Attribution, Media Mix Modeling and Incrementality Testing are first-party capabilities of the platform.
How deep does it go on the CRM you actually run? Platforms native to one CRM are strongest there and thinnest everywhere else. If your stack is mixed, this is the question that decides it. Built CRM-agnostic, so the spend-to-closed-revenue join works the same whichever CRM sits on the other side.
Can you price it before the first sales call? A renewal you cannot benchmark is a renewal negotiated with one number on the table. Free Limited at $0/mo and MCP Only at $100/mo are published and self-serve; Advanced and Enterprise are custom.
How long until the first governed report? A migration that runs a quarter is a quarter of paying two vendors, and it is the switching cost people underestimate most. Deploy in days, not months. Connectors and destinations are configuration, not an engineering project.
What does the security posture actually cover? Enterprise procurement asks this in writing, and the answer sets how long the contract takes to sign. SOC 2 · GDPR · HIPAA, SSO on enterprise plans, and any warehouse or bi tool as the destination.

Four differences that decide it

What changes when the data layer is the product

Governance you can enforce, not only harmonize

Most platforms in this category harmonize: they map field names and schema at ingestion so reports stop breaking. That is not the same as a rules layer. Improvado ships Marketing Data Governance inside the platform that ingests the data, so a budget or naming violation is caught before the campaign launches rather than found in a reconciliation later.

The same depth on any CRM

A platform built around one CRM does its best work inside that ecosystem, and a team on anything else builds the opportunity-to-campaign join themselves. Improvado was built CRM-agnostic, so joining ad spend to closed revenue works the same whichever system of record sits on the other side.

Transformation before the dashboard

A semantic model renames the fields your sources already report. It does not calculate blended CAC, deduplicate a conversion that three platforms each claim, or build the model your team defined. Improvado treats that as work the platform owns, not a layer you assemble on top of it.

Ask in plain language, get the SQL behind it

Connect your data, ask a question, and get an answer with the query that produced it — auditable rather than asserted. It works inside your own AI agent too, over MCP, so the numbers reach the tools your team already has open.

Enterprise proof

Run by teams with the same problem, at the same size

Before you ask us

Questions buyers actually send first

We are mid-contract. Is there any point looking now?

Usually yes, and earlier than feels natural. Enterprise marketing data contracts tend to auto-renew on a notice window measured in months, so the practical deadline to evaluate is well before the renewal date. Knowing what the alternatives answer to the questions above is also the only way to negotiate the renewal itself with more than one number on the table.

What does migration actually involve?

Reconnecting sources, re-pointing destinations, and rebuilding the transformation logic and dashboards that currently live in the incumbent platform. The connector work is the fast part. The honest variable is how much undocumented business logic has accumulated inside your existing reports, which is why the first call is a walkthrough on your own stack rather than a demo account.

Will you tell us if we are better off staying?

Yes, and it happens. If your organization is built around a single CRM ecosystem and the platform native to it already answers the questions above, the case for moving is weak and we will say so on the call rather than after a procurement cycle.

Can Improvado run alongside what we already have?

It can — normalizing and governing cross-channel data before it reaches an existing reporting layer is a common shape, particularly where a BI investment is staying put. Most teams evaluating a renewal, though, are deciding which single platform owns the marketing data problem end to end.

Bring your own stack to the call

Tell us which sources and which CRM you run. We will show the join on your data, not on a demo account, and say plainly where you are better off staying put.
