Extracting data

Before loading your data into Domo, you will have to prep it first. If you don't already have a data structure in which to store the data you retrieve, you'll have to create a schema for your data tables. Then, for each value in the response, you'll need to identify a predefined datatype (INTEGER, DATETIME, etc.) and build a table that can receive them.

MediaMath's documentation should tell you what fields are provided by each endpoint, along with their corresponding datatypes. Complicating things is the fact that the records retrieved from the source may not always be "flat" – some of the objects may actually be lists. You have two choices. You can either APPEND or REPLACE the data which currently exists in your DataSet. Note that if you choose APPEND, it will incrementally create new data rows to your dataset as they’re imported via the API. On the other hand, REPLACE will remove your existing data and then refresh your DataSet with all of the data from your last import through the API.

Once you have chosen the kind of update Method for the data that you plan to import, you will have to use your dataset ID to make the request. Domo will then return a response of either success or failure for the outcome of data being loaded into DataSet.
