While configuring your Twitter connection, you may encounter several issues. Understanding these common errors can help streamline the setup process and facilitate quick resolutions.
Data Discrepancy
Missing data in “Promoted Tweets“ report type
Twitter API currently does not yet support PROMOTED_TWEET entity with segmentation for conversion data.
Mismatch of metrics values
The values of some metrics may differ due to "by-design" differences between levels in the API and in the Twitter UI. For example, it is worth noting the difference between the ```Conversion Purchases Metric``` at the Ad level and at the Campaign level.
Solution
Make sure you are using the correct level of detail. You can find out the level of detail by checking the name of the extraction template. Learn more here.
Wrong permissions

Not enough permissions to get tweets. Please, make sure you have at least Ad Manager permission level or contact Improvado support via Service Desk.

Solution
Make sure to use your Ad Account and not your personal Twitter account. Please note that your Ad Account must have at least one test ad running.

You can follow our step-by-step guide below to create and set up your Twitter Ad Account.
Step 1. Finish customizing your Twitter profile
Ensure your Twitter profile is fully set up before creating your Twitter Ads account. Your profile should include:
- Profile picture
- Background picture
- Bio with a functional URL to your website
- Location
Step 2. Create a Twitter Ads account
- Log in to the Twitter Ads portal if you haven't set up a Twitter Ads account.
- Select your country and time zone.
- Follow the steps to create and set up your first campaign. You can select any objective at this stage.
- Enter your billing details. This is required, but you can stop the campaign immediately to avoid charges.
- Finish the setup process, and you'll be redirected to the ad manager.
Step 3. Add tax information to your Twitter Ads account
- Open the Twitter Ads portal.
- Click on your account name in the top right-hand corner and select Account settings.
- Select the Tax information tab and choose the appropriate tax status.
- Fill in your contact information.
- Click Save tax information.
Step 4. Set up Tweet permissions in your Twitter Ads account
- Open the Twitter Ads portal.
- Click on your account name in the top right-hand corner and select Edit access to account.
- Click Edit access.
- Check the box for Can compose promotable tweets next to your Twitter Ads account.
- Click Save changes.
