Setup guide

Follow our setup guide to connect Meltwater to Improvado.

Step 1. Click the Make a new Connection on the Connections page.
Categories on the Data sources page group all available platforms. Use a search to find the required one.

Step 2. Click on the Meltwater tile.

Step 3. To authorize your account you need to fill in the required fields below following steps 3.1 - 3.3:

  • API Key
  • Timezone - it is better to use the Joda time zone (Canonical ID).

{% docs-informer info %}

Be careful with the amount of data requested because reports spend a lot of API units: 1 unit per 1 search id in 1 report per 1 week for 1 source.

Step 3.1. Provide us with a list of Search IDs via Service Desk.

  1. Raise a Service Desk ticket and provide a list of Search IDs by following the instructions below.
    We will manually add the items you provided to each order. Otherwise, no records will be extracted from the API.
  2. Fill in the ticket’s Summary field with this text: ```Add Search IDs to Meltwater extraction orders```.
  3. List necessary Search IDs (comma-separated) in Description using this template:
    ```<account_name> - <report_type> - <id_1,id_2,...,id_n>```.
{% docs-informer info title="Important" %}
Ensure that extraction orders you specified should be already set up before the ticket is created.
You can learn more about extraction orders here.
