How to set up data extraction with dynamic (custom) fields for GA4
Warning
Please note that this is an account-specific feature. It is only available when a single account is selected. If two or more accounts are selected dynamic dimensions and metrics will not be shown.
Follow the steps below to extract dynamic (custom) fields from your GA4 connection:
- Choose the necessary account in Step 1. Select accounts.
- Select Free-form Daily Report report type in Step 2. Choose your data.
- Set up the combination of metrics and dimensions you need in Step 3. Configure extraction. All dynamic fields have the Custom label in the Label column.
- Click the Validate button to start the compatibility check. If you see the Warning message, remove the selection from unsupported metrics or dimensions.
Limitations:
- The Create Extraction Template feature will not be available for configurations that include dynamic fields, such as any field labelled Custom.
- The auto-extract feature will also not be available.
- Once an extraction order is created, you cannot go back to settings to add new dimensions or properties. To change the field selection, create a new extraction order.
