Adobe Analytics Data Feed

Description

‍Adobe Analytics Data Feed is a powerful way to get raw data out of Adobe Analytics. This raw data can be used in other platforms outside of Adobe.

Setup guide

Follow our setup guide to connect Adobe Analytics Data Feed to Improvado.

Step 1. Click the Make a new Connection on the Connections page.
Categories on the Data sources page group all available platforms. Use a search to find the required one.

Step 2. Click on the Adobe Analytics Data Feed tile.

Authorize your Adobe Analytics Data Feed account using your AWS S3 API Credentials:

  • Path — the S3 bucket and folder (prefix) where Adobe drops the Data Feed files and Improvado reads them, in bucket/prefix form.
  • AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID — the access key ID that can read that location.
  • AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY — the matching secret access key.

Each Adobe report suite you send to this location shows up as a separate account on the connection, so you can extract them one by one. Adobe keeps every report suite in its own folder inside your Path.

To set the feed up on the Adobe side, open Admin > Data feeds > Add in Adobe Analytics, pick the columns you need and a daily schedule, then set the destination to Amazon S3 and point it at the same location you entered as Path. You need admin access in Adobe Analytics, or a product profile that allows data feeds. Adobe walks through every step in its guide on how to create a data feed.

Important: In case you use an Improvado-managed AWS S3 bucket, contact your Customer Success Manager to get access credentials for the bucket, then connect it to Adobe Analytics Data Feed.

Note: Wait until Adobe has delivered at least one file before you create the connection. If the location is still empty, authorization fails with "There are no files in S3 bucket".

After completing the connection process, the Adobe Analytics Data Feed connection will appear in your Connected sources list.

Step 5. When the connection status is Active, and the account status column shows a number of accounts, you can move on to data extraction.

To extract data from the connected sources, check the instructions on how to set up data extraction.
