Description

idealo is a price comparison website that allows users to compare prices on a range of products from 50k+ shops.

Setup guide

Follow this setup guide to connect Idealo Business to Improvado.

In a separate tab, sign in to the idealo Business Center and go to My idealo → Settings → API clients → idealo business API. Create new API credentials and copy the client ID and the client secret. See the official idealo click report API guide for details.

Note

idealo shows the client secret only once, when the credentials are created. If you no longer have it, create new credentials and delete the old ones.

Back in Improvado, fill in the connection form:

Login (client_id) - the client ID from Step 1.
Password (client_secret) - the client secret from Step 1.
Domain - the idealo marketplace your shop sells on: DE, AT, UK, FR, IT or ES. It sets the marketplace for the Daily Click Report and appears in the account name (shop ID, domain). Click Report V2 is not limited by it. If your shop sells on several marketplaces, create one connection per domain to get a Daily Click Report for each.

Click Connect. After the connection process is completed successfully, the Idealo Business connection will appear in your Connected sources list.

When the connection status is Active, and the account status column shows a number of accounts, you can move on to data extraction.

The schema information shows all report types you can use to extract data from Idealo Business.

Limits

idealo allows up to five Click Report V2 requests per shop in 24 hours, at least 15 minutes apart. When a limit is reached, Improvado waits and retries, so a Click Report V2 extraction can take longer than other reports.
Click Report V2 covers up to 15 months back and ends with the previous day: today's clicks are not included. idealo usually makes the previous day's data available from around 5:00 AM UTC.
Daily Click Report covers up to 365 days back. idealo no longer fills its Costs column (it shows n/a since July 2023), so use Click Report V2 for CPC and cost data.
